The low angled sun of mid-winter creates such beautiful shadows and light on the snow. For more than 40 years (in Alaska and Vermont) I've fallen in love with the drama of the northern light. This image of the brilliance and deep shadows of winter became a tribute to my late father who passed away while I was working on this print.
