Born and raised in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut, my art background started as soon as I could hold a pencil. Many hours were spent in art classes throughout my primary and secondary school education. In my late twenties, I completed two semesters of graphic design at a community college.
However, my art career was put on hold while raising my family and pursuing a full-time Dental Hygiene career. In 2015 with my children now grown, my creative juices began flowing again. Starting with black and white abstract pattern designs led to color study, markers, colored pencils, and then watercolor. In 2016 I enrolled in an adult watercolor course at a community college, I continued to learn through tutorials, workshops, educational books, and plein air painting. My passion for watercolor has led me to where I am today. Still working full-time in the dental field, my spare time is spent studying and creating landscape paintings inspired by light and shadows. I enjoy painting on location as well as in the studio. With a love for architecture, I am inspired by rural landscapes, accepting commissions for old barns, farms, and homes.
In 2023 I became a member of the New England Watercolor Society. My watercolor painting 'Route 203' was accepted into the Spring into Art Show. My painting 'Reflections' was accepted into the 2023 NEWS regional open juried exhibition where it won the Virginia Avery Memorial Award. ‘Blinding’ was accepted into the 2024 NEWS All Members Open -Theme Show. I am a member of the Windham Regional Arts Council and an Artist Member at Art Center East. My piece Lovers Lane’ received one of three People’s Choice Awards in the 13th Annual Member’s Show. At the 2024 juried show, New England Bridges and Barns exhibit, I received an honorable mention for ‘Route 203’. I also exhibit and sell work at the Silver Circle Gallery.
