We took a little trip over to the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York. The lakes are, of course, gorgeous with many waterfalls pouring into them that are worthy of other prints (like "Late Summer Falls.") The farms are equally striking and I was taken by the bales of hay waiting to be wrapped as giant marshmallows. 

This piece reflects my response to that landscape, drawing as much from memory rather than a single moment in time. The arrangement of hay bales against a vast sky creates a sense of balance and they contrast with the brilliance of the summer sky. Through layered colors and rhythmic patterns, I try to convey a mood that resonates with the warmth and tranquility of a summer day. I hope it will prompt the same response for you.
