Halifax is a well known place name in the English-speaking world. But you've probably never been to the village of Halifax, Vermont where I found this house. It grabbed me from the first time I saw it. This linocut print is derived from a watercolor I did more than 25 years prior to making this print. It was one of several paintings I did of this subject. The prominent sugar maple trees beside the building create a striking presence for this simple house on a knoll. The print was done with two blocks, each carved and printed multiple times.

This handmade print is made with oil based, fine art printers inks on Stonehenge, 100 percent rag paper. It is titled, numbered and signed in pencil below the image area. The full size of the sheet is 14" x 11”.
